Getting Started

Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Visit the App

    Go to alfredang.github.io/phonics-ai

  2. Click Sign Up

    Click "Sign Up" or "Register" to create your account

  3. Enter Your Details

    Enter your email and create a password

  4. Choose a Username

    Pick a fun username that represents you

  5. Start Learning!

    You're ready to begin your phonics journey

Step 2: Start Your Journey

When you first log in, you'll start in Letters Land - the first world where you'll learn individual letter sounds. Don't worry, it's fun and easy!

Pro Tip: Make sure your device volume is on! You'll need to hear the sounds to learn them properly.

How to Complete a Lesson

Every lesson has 4 parts. Complete them all to earn stars!

Listen Phase Tips

  • Watch the mouth animation to see how to form the sound
  • Click the speaker button to hear the sound
  • Listen carefully - you can replay as many times as you need
  • Pay attention to example words

Earning XP and Leveling Up

What is XP?

XP stands for "Experience Points." You earn XP by:

  • Completing lessons
  • Playing games
  • Getting high scores
  • Finishing daily quests
  • Maintaining your streak

Leveling Up

When you earn enough XP, you level up! Higher levels mean:

  • New achievements to unlock
  • Bragging rights with your friends
  • Access to harder challenges
Keep Your Streak: Practice every day to build your streak. The longer your streak, the more bonus XP you earn!

Daily Quests

Every day, you get new quests to complete. These might include:

  • Complete 2 lessons
  • Earn 100 XP
  • Play 3 games
  • Get 3 stars on a lesson

Completing quests gives you bonus XP rewards!

Earn special badges by reaching milestones:

Linking to Your Parent's Account

Want your parent to see your awesome progress? You can link your account to theirs! Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings

    Open your dashboard and click on Settings (the gear icon).

  2. Find "Parent Link" Section

    Scroll down to find the Parent Link section.

  3. Generate a Link Code

    Click "Generate Link Code" to get a special 8-character code.

  4. Share the Code

    Tell your parent the code. They'll enter it in their Parent Dashboard.

  5. Approve the Request

    When your parent enters the code, you'll see a request in your Settings. Click the green check to approve!

You're in Control: Only approved parents can see your progress. You can remove a linked parent anytime from your Settings.

Joining Your Teacher's Classroom

If your teacher uses Phonics AI, you can join their classroom so they can see how you're doing!

  1. Get the Code

    Ask your teacher for the classroom join code (6 characters like ABC123).

  2. Go to Settings

    Open your dashboard and click on Settings.

  3. Find "Classroom" Section

    Scroll down to find the Classroom section.

  4. Enter the Code

    Type in the 6-character code and click "Join".

  5. You're In!

    You'll see the classroom name appear. Your teacher can now see your progress!

Good to know: You can join multiple classrooms if you have more than one teacher using the app.

A phoneme is the smallest unit of sound in a language. English has 44 phonemes!
