The 5 Learning Worlds

Your journey from letters to fluent reading

Overview

Phonics AI is organized into 5 progressive worlds, each designed to build on the skills learned in the previous world. As you complete lessons and earn stars, you'll unlock new worlds and advance toward reading fluency.

Start where you belong: You don't have to begin at World 1. If you already know basic letter sounds, you can start at a higher world that matches your current skill level.

World 1: Letters Land

🌱 The Foundation of Reading

Target Age: 9-10 years | Prerequisite: None

What You'll Learn

  • Individual letter sounds (a-z)
  • Short vowel sounds (/a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/)
  • Common consonant sounds
  • How to form sounds correctly using mouth position

Skills Developed

  • Letter-sound correspondence
  • Phonemic awareness
  • Sound recognition
  • Proper articulation

Sample Lessons

  • The /a/ sound as in "apple" and "cat"
  • The /b/ sound as in "ball" and "bat"

Target Age: 10-11 years | Prerequisite: Letters Land (80%)

What You'll Learn

  • Blending sounds together to read words
  • CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words like "cat", "dog", "run"
  • Word families (-at, -an, -it, -op, etc.)
  • Consonant blends (bl, cr, st, tr)

Skills Developed

  • Sound blending
  • Word decoding
  • Pattern recognition
  • Reading simple words independently

Sample Lessons

  • Blending /c/ + /a/ + /t/ = "cat"
  • The -at family: cat, bat, hat, mat, sat
  • Initial blends: bl-, cr-, st-

World 3: Sentence Street

  • Basic punctuation and pausing
  • Long vowel sounds and patterns

  • R-controlled vowels (ar, er, ir, or, ur)
